As Chairman of the Board of Directors, I’m very excited about the future of the National Black Alcoholism and Addictions Council, Inc.
NBAC is committed to educating the public and providing leadership for the prevention and treatment of alcohol abuse, alcoholism, and other drugs of abuse; increasing services of alcohol or other drug abusing individuals and their families; providing quality care and treatment; and developing research models specifically designed for Blacks.
When NBAC first started, the primary focus was on Blacks suffering with alcoholism―National Black Alcoholism Council, Inc. (NBAC.). In 1992, the Board decided to change the legal name of the organization to include other addictions. We recognized that most individuals abusing or addicted to alcohol were also abusing other drugs. The name of the organization is now known as the National Black Alcoholism and Addictions Council, Inc., still referred to as NBAC. Read more...
